Q&A

Question:  Where does the name Upendo Flowers come from?
Answer:  Upendo means unconditional love in Swahili (local language in Kenya). We are getting most of our flowers from Kenya and besides that we really love what we are doing.

Question: which size boxes are you using to transport the flowers?

Answer:  Because we are sourcing flowers from many different farms and we also source different type of flowers we work with several sizes when it comes to the boxes. However since most growers work with different sizes our customers can indicate their preferences.  Also we can indicate the amount of stems per box for the different lengths and varieties.

Question: Can I visit Kenya or Dubai in order to get a better idea of Upendo Flowers and the products?
Answer: At all times we welcome (potential) customers in both Kenya and Dubai. In Kenya we are regularly organizing two or three days trips in order to visit interesting suppliers together with our suppliers.  Besides giving wholesalers a better idea about the possibilities it will also give them a better idea about our set up and some of the growers we exclusively represent.

Question: Do you work with FOB or CIF prices
Answer: All our prices are FOB Kenya because we believe that is the most transparent. The freight costs we have to pay we charge our customers, so without any margins. Obviously we try to work with the best transport prices possible.
